Alpha's Reborn Mate: Waking up as his Sister-in-law
Synopsis of Alpha's Reborn Mate: Waking up as his Sister-in-law
Chapter 1
[Valeria’s pov]
“Oh my! Valeria, you are here too?” Someone placed her hand over my shoulder as I turned around. “Are you really here for the mating ceremony?” My anger rose hearing those mocking words, knowing that I was wolf-less and there was no way I could find my mate. Nothing new for me but it still hurt as heck.
“Well, I doubt you would even shift now. But good luck on finding your mate.” The random woman smiled and went away, when I noticed people staring at me in disgust. Abandoned by my father, the beta of the pack and disliked by my step-mother and her kids. None of that was hurtful as much as being wolf-less was.
Looking around with my helpless eyes, all I could see was men and women dressed for the party. Everyone was eager to find their mates and shift for the first time. Under the moonlight, with drinks in their hands and the loud chatter. It was the moment when I noticed my dad’s affection towards his other daughter who had just turned eighteen.
I felt a longing for his love but ignored them and continued to have another drink. Today was the mating ceremony and everyone was gathered on the highest castle situated on the cliff. The news was spread that after five years, today the moon goddess was going to bless the wolves with mates. Sharp at ten, under the full moon.
Touching twenty four and being wolf-less was a big tragedy. But what irked me was the idea of staying mateless that night. Chugging down another shot of fruit cocktail, I was startled when a female attendant came forward. “Pardon the intrusion, miss. But the pack seers insist if you leave the ceremonial area.”
Hearing those words once again reminded me of my tragic life. Those fucking seers who influenced the decisions of the pack had
already labelled me as a cursed one. “We don’t want any kind of hindrance in the ceremony. The moon goddess might bestow wrath on us while you are here. Please miss. I can serve you food and drinks in the inner hall.”
My blood boiled at those words and I asked with my voice getting defensive. “And how the heck those seers know I will not shift tonight and won’t find my mate either?” It wasn’t the attendant’s
fault but I could not contain my anger either. What happened was not my fault. Being wolfless was not something I had decided. My father disowning me wasn’t my mistake either.
"We know that you are still wolfless and are past the expiry date, miss Valeria Hayden. There is no way you will shift tonight and find a mate.” I heard the seers speaking when they walked in the front garden where the ceremony was about to start. My face got creased with utter shock over their bluntness and anger on their chosen words.
"Thus, we think it would be best if you leave the area."
